Translation

Translation attends to the need for transnational engagements to thoughtfully narrate much of our current crises. It looks towards futures that need not be pre-defined by how print capital shaped nationalisms, especially in proximate regions with closely related languages. Literary translation aspires to be a space of non-hegemonic borrowing and listening that recognises ingenuity and critical agency in those who adopt ideas to different contexts in a time of auto-translate. Translation is highly aware that language-print-nationalisms today hide and facilitate the way labour is exploited between borders.
